Effective communication among the interdisciplinary team will help gather information and flow and establish rapport, which help to achieve patient outcomes (Kumar et al., 2019).  Objectives The plan is to bridge the gap in interdisciplinary teams, which is accomplished through communication enhancement workshops. These workshops are based on active listening, engagement, and patient satisfaction regarding ED visits. The plan’s success will minimize the communication gap among healthcare professionals, reduce medical errors, and achieve positive patient outcomes.  Questions and Predictions The workshops will be arranged within the hospital setting in meeting rooms. The experienced clinicians, educators, and nurses will lead this work along with the practical exercise of these workshops. Trust and satisfaction between the patient and healthcare professional are built via effective communication. There will be fewer patient visit and stay, and patient outcomes will be achieved. These workshops will be arranged within the hospital and during the duty hours of nurses to reduce the healthcare worker’s time for training. Change Theories and Leadership Strategies The Lippitt change theory helps to overcome the existing problem in the unit. According to this change theory, awareness, communication establishment, identification, objectives, and achievement of change through a strategy. The change is to organize the communication workshop within the healthcare setting and its awareness among the healthcare setting through meetings once a week. The health educator will explain the positive impact of the change on the nurses and how it will affect their workflow. Required Organizational Resources The required financial and organizational resources include allocating resources such as the role of healthcare providers within healthcare settings. The hospital meeting room already has a whiteboard, internet connection, computers, and electrical sockets, but a projector and screen are needed for the workshops. Moreover, organizations must hire more health educators for communication enhancement workshops. The budget required for this change to be implemented in the hospital is about $37,000 annually. The budget for the projector and screen is $5000, a $2000 monthly payment for health educators, and $2000 for the non-verbal communication techniques sign chart. Budget for IT technicians is $500 per month. If the plan is not implemented successfully in the ED at the United Hospital, it will lead to more errors in information gathering and flow, clarity, and patient satisfaction, ultimately risking patient safety. Furthermore, the potential cost will double as the patient will have a long stay and more ED visits. The hospital in Malawi has adopted effective communication among the interdisciplinary team, leading them to improve patient outcomes. Effective interdisciplinary team communication has enhanced patient satisfaction and safety (Kwame & Petrucka, 2021).  Conclusion The ED of the United Hospital lacks communication, which is a significant cause of errors, disrupted workflow confusion, and patient distress. The change is to organize effective communication workshops to minimize the gap and improve patient safety. The Lippit change theory and democratic leadership style are helpful strategies to implement the change successfully. This communication gap leads to more errors in information flow and clarity. Moreover, team members are confused and disrupted, which hinders work completion due to a lack of collaboration and communication. These results in more patient visits and long stays in ED and risks to patient safety and quality of care. Moreover, the hospital budget will also be affected due to patient stays, ED visits, and wrong treatment.  Relevance of Interdisciplinary Team Approach The healthcare professionals working in the United Hospital ED lack communication; however, this interdisciplinary team approach, which includes the effective communication skills workshop and shared decision-making, is the best and most relevant approach that will bridge the gap in the team. Shared decision-making and effective communication skills interventions are specific to the team’s requirements. These two approaches include team characteristics like shared leadership, interdependence, and responsibilities of the team members.
