These hazards pose risks to patients, impacting their quality of life, increasing financial burdens for the organization due to re-operative procedures and readmissions, and elevating the incidence of hospital-acquired infections associated with prolonged stays.

Consequently, these issues contribute significantly to organizational reputation damage, eroded trust within the healthcare system, heightened medical errors, patient complications, and increased costs. The current evaluation aims to comprehensively analyze and report on outcomes, measures, issues, and opportunities within Alignment Healthcare for executive leadership consideration.

Organizational Functions, Processes, and Behaviors in High-Performing Organizations

Strategic planning and effective implementation of care plans are critical in high-performing organizations to ensure quality care provision, utilizing errors as learning opportunities to enhance practice and minimize medical errors (Buljac-Samardzic et al., 2020). Such organizations excel by anticipating needs, strategically planning actions, and implementing patient-centered care approaches. Addressing safety concerns like unsafe surgical procedures necessitates multi-level organizational changes encompassing postoperative complications, patient readmissions, surgical site infections, and patient satisfaction.

Strategic management involves establishing organizational hygiene protocols, meticulously managing surgical site infections through precise operative techniques, timely administration, and appropriate preoperative preparations. Additionally, comprehensive, simulation-based education can empower nurses with interactive learning experiences, aiding in risk anticipation and emphasizing the importance of preoperative hygiene preparations, thereby enhancing patient satisfaction and reducing postoperative risks and readmissions. Implementing strategies such as the Four E’s (engage, educate, execute, evaluate) can effectively mitigate the risks associated with unsafe surgical procedures (Ariyo et al., 2019).

Outcome measures within the organization include the frequency of unsafe surgical procedures, postoperative complications, patient readmissions, surgical site infections, and patient satisfaction, crucial for evaluating care quality and professional competency (Hannawa et al., 2022). Conversely, negative impacts on outcome measures arise from poorly developed processes, resulting in unsafe surgical procedures, increased readmission rates, and elevated resource allocation for reimbursement and readmission management. Ineffective communication, unsupportive environments, and complex processes contribute to heightened medical errors and strained patient-provider relationships (Tiwary et al., 2019). Quality and Safety Outcomes and Measures
